What a week! Check out my finds!

This pretty much sums up my week.

TV/Movies:

This summer I watched the first season of New Girl in one YouthWorks week (an impressive feat, trust me). Last week I watched the second season of New Girl in three days. Needless to say, I’m in love.

This week I finished watching Friends on Netflix. We only have five seasons on Netflix here in the Dominican Republic and I WANT MORE. But not really so badly that I will actually seek out more. The girls on Friends are too skinny and Rachel drives me nuts.

I started watching Sherlock. Hooray! I think this might fill a CSI-shaped hole in my life. Although NOBODY can replace Nick Stokes in my heart.

I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve watched this movie. It’s my comfort food in movie form. This week I had trouble sleeping and HP1 lulled me to sleep at 3:30am and midnight. I also watched it while I baked chocolate banana bread. So… three times in one week. Pretty average.

Books:

  • The Rule of Three by Eric Walters – I’ve been reading this book for a while now. The plot summary sounded really interesting – “One shocking afternoon, computers around the globe shut down in a viral catastrophe… Soon—as resources dwindle, crises mount, and chaos descends—he will see his suburban neighborhood band together for protection.” But the book is boring and 400 pages long. I’m really just finishing up the last 50 pages out of curiosity. Maybe something interesting will happen.

General Good Finds:

  • “We gotta start teaching our daughters to be somebodies instead of somebody’s.” – Kifah Shah
  • Dumbledore’s Phoenix zooms into his office with pressing news. Harry, unable to speak bird, asks the headmaster, “What does the Fawkes say?” (found on Tumblr)
  • “Start telling the stories that only you can tell, because there’ll always be better writers than you and there’ll always be smarter writers than you. There will always be people who are much better at doing this or doing that — but you are the only you.” – Neil Gaiman
  • Roadtrippers – This awesome website helps you “Discover your America” by recommending restaurants, lodging, shopping, scenic drivers, and many other points of interest along your desired route. So cool!
  • And finally…
